Momma Lynns Medical and Future
Donation protected
Hi everyone! I have created this fundraiser to help support my mother through her medical journey and the road to recovery.
Most of you know Momma Lynn to be kind, loving, sweet, hardworking, devoted and above all else, a true angel on this earth. If you've ever had the opportunity to meet her, you’d soon realize that she is one of the strongest women you’d ever cross paths with.
This is a very brief summary of her story over the last year and a half:
Last year, she was admitted to the hospital for severe abdominal pain and bloating. She was admitted for about a week before they decided to do an “exploratory” surgery. The incision was made from her breastbone all the way down to her pelvic bone. This first surgery all that was found was scar tissue on the intestines which caused a huge blockage. That was removed. Fast forward to a few months later she was back in the hospital for the same pain. She was unable to eat for 11 days, they placed a Picc line to give her nutrients on day 12. She also had an NG tube in for around 15 days. Another surgery was performed this time it was considered “emergency surgery”. They removed part of her colon, part of her small intestine, and more scare tissue. That night, she was over pumped with fluids causing her lungs to collapse and she was in ICU for 8 days. They had her connected to a BiPap machine to reinflate her lungs and to keep her breathing. She gained her strength back and was discharged from ICU and stayed another week or so in the hospital.
She went home and continued to recover. At this point she was out of work for a little over 7 months. She got a job at Fry’s to help with her bills and to get her back on her feet. Let’s move into 2023 – about a month ago she had abdominal pain yet again placing her in the hospital. They found that her uterus was extremely inflamed. She saw a specialist and they told her she most likely has uterus cancer. They did two biopsies that came back inconclusive. They referred her to another specialist where he decided to do yet again, another major abdominal surgery. As of 9/6 she was back in surgery and had a full hysterectomy (all tumors benign thank god), a hernia repair caused from her past surgeries, and more colon and intestine removed. She is now fighting to get her strength back and will be in the hospital for at least one week. Her total recovery time for this operation is estimated to be about 8 weeks and that is if everything continues to run smoothly.
She will be out of work for the foreseeable future and if you know my mom, she loves to work and provide for herself and others. She deserves this time to lay low, rest and recover stress free so that she can enjoy the rest of her life.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of what my mother has gone through over the last year and a half. If you are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated.
We love and cherish all of you!
On behalf of my mother, Dominic, and myself - THANK YOU!
