None of us really want to think about this, but the end of mom's time here is very near. As we all know, She is 95 years old and has been fighting COPD for many years. Up until just a couple of weeks ago she was going strong. But In the last few days her health has taken a turn for the worst. Her doctor has confirmed it, she is in her final days.
We, as a family, are losing our matriarch. It's a sad and surreal time, for sure. If ever there was a time when the support and love of a family is needed, it is now.
The loss of a parent is stressful enough, but then there is the sudden realization that there are expenses associated with death. Her funeral expenses have been mostly prepaid but there is still a remaining balance of about $2000. Fortunately, we are many. We should have no problem bearing this final expense as a family.
