Mom seeks funds for custody battle

My name is Alexis Patrissi-Musca,
I have created this campaign for my lifelong friend Nancy Napoli-DeCrescenzo. Just recently this February, Nancy was diagnosed with brain cancer. She made it successfully through surgery and is now going through chemotherapy sessions which are to last through the next year. This has been a difficult time for herself, her husband and two daughters Gabriella (12) and Giuliana(5). However if you see her, she remains positive and strong. I admire her tremendously.
As if battling brain cancer was not enough…. She was served with papers from her ex- husband to change the custody agreement of their daughter Gabriella. Her ex- husband has always been given liberal and agreeable visitation but now in time of her battle he is now seeking full custody. He feels because of her illness she should not remain as the full custodial parent. This is contrary to what her oncology team has reported. Anyone who is around Nancy and her children can clearly see she has not let the cancer affect her parenting abilities!
For the past 12 and a half years, Nancy has been the full custodial parent. She wants to remain as such, as it is in the best interest of Gabriella. Having any change to this agreement would be devastating to Nancy, Gabriella and Gabriella’s little sister Giuliana.
The doctors have said numerous times she needs to be stress free. This addition of court proceedings is not in her best interest, however she must now fight TWO battles. Please help my friend who has been courageous, positive and loving over these past 7months.
Having Gabriella remain in her custody is Nancy’s wish. I set up this fund in order to aid my friend in her need to employ an attorney in the hopes to fight this upcoming court battle and to keep the current arrangement between her and her ex-husband intact.
Keeping this mother and daughter together is vital. l’d be forever grateful and thankful from the bottom of my heart for any help in this endeavor.
