Hi, my name is Becky, as most reading this would already know. And those close to me already know my family’s recent struggles, and sometimes things just feel never-ending. February 1st was the cherry on top. Here’s the short story for you; you’re welcome to message me on FB for more if you would like: On Jan 21, the campground was sold. We were heartbroken, but due to things beyond our control, it’s gone. Our 84-year-old mom lives at the campground. She has done nothing to attract attention to herself, never late on her bills or causing any trouble. On Saturday, Feb 1st, the new owners gave her eviction papers. (First ever in her life to get such a thing as she’s one to be a great person, never breaking rules, getting speeding tickets, that sort of person… so you know this came as quite the devastating shock to her). They gave her till the 28th to get out. She lives on SSI only and does not have the means to just go out and buy a place or rent a house. We did find a trailer, and the owner sold it to us for $1500. With the blessing of someone closest to us, they helped make it possible for that to come together, and we are so very thankful for this roof over her head. Now, you can imagine what you get for that cost. The whole inside has to be gutted and has to have cabinets, flooring, sink, stove, fridge, bathtub, and toilet. My sister can do most of this work, but the cost to get everything is crazy. She has looked on FB and the Habitat for Humanity store to try and get lower-cost stuff with no luck. Mom did nothing wrong, and this is unacceptable for her to get treated like this. She doesn’t know that we are reaching out for help. She needs beds and living room stuff. We have some stuff to help her, but the cost of flooring and kitchen appliances are just out of control. If you got this far, thank you for taking the time to read this and helping get a place fixed up so mom can live in a decent place. It’s never easy to humble yourself and admit when you need help, but times are hard for everyone, and we understand it is hard for everyone. Anything helps. Prayer helps. My mom has been our prayer warrior, guidance, God-loving momma who took care of everyone her whole life… even when she didn’t have anything for herself. We’d love to make sure she has a great home now at this time.
