Mom diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Lung Cancer

As some of you already know, my Mom in Michigan, was just diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Lung Cancer.  Without treatment her prognosis is 2-6 months.  Donna, my mother, watched her mother shrink away after the chemo treatments. She knows the physical damage these treatments can have.  Her initial wish was to avoid treatment, but after speaking with my brother, she agreed to fight it.  She knows the fight will not end in triumph, but will instead allow her loved ones more time with her.  I'm driving up there this week and taking all of my tools.  After having built 2 Assisted Living Homes and losing my father to cancer, I know what needs to be done.  It is difficult to be both pragmatic and a daughter losing her mother.  I've exhausted all my means, financially, to care for my Mom and Ron.  Cancer does not give you time to sort these things out.   Her house needs changes that will allow her (and Ron) to stay in their home.  Her fears are not for herself but for Ron and how my siblings will be able to take care of him.   As with most homes, consideration for the elderly or infirmed is ignored.  Widened doorways for walkers, safety bars in the bathroom and flooring transitions are some of the simplest things to fix -- if you have the funds.   I can't believe I'm asking, but I need your help.  (If you ever need friendly design help or advice, please don't hesitate to call.)  Anything you are able to share will be much appreciated! In addition to the home repairs, funds will be needed for all the new medical expenses. If you're unable to help financially, please keep my Mom in your prayers, miracles have happened!
