Mom at School is a small Bhutanese charity, run by teachers, to help the poorest of the poor get the basic needs for their education and preventing these pupils from dropping out of school, solely due to their parent's poverty.
It was, after all, not their choice to be born poor!
It is school and community driven and this fundraising effort is for general funding to match the local cash donations and ‘in-kind’ gifts with an equal amount of external funds.
In this way it’s a win-win for everybody:
* “locals” see their donations doubled by outsiders, and
* extraneous contributors know that the local community is committing an equal amount “of their own for their own”.
There is no greater reward than:
the grateful smile on the face of a child,
just grasping someone cares about its future.
