Molly's Autism Life Dog

Our family are fundraising for an Autism Life Dog for our daughter, Molly. An Autism Life Dog will be specially trained to help Molly by reducing her anxiety when out in the community which will help build much needed confidence and independence. It will also provide companionship when she cannot leave the house and be trained in play therapy to help engage Molly in games and activities.  Since birth Molly has suffered kidney and bladder problems alongside Autism Spectrum Disorder which have resulted in an isolating and painful life for her as infection, severe spasms, chronic pain and anxiety have become all-consuming. As years have passed the choices for Molly's treatment have become more limited as we work to manage her symptoms. An Autism Life Dog will not reduce Molly's pain nor take away her infections but it will give her a best friend - a companion for a child who is so full of life yet rarely manages to leave the house. The training to become an autism assistance dog is extensive and because of this it is very costly and we need to contribute a substantial amount. We have made a target goal of £9000 which covers our contribution plus a therapy toy box and the first year of health insurance. We have a very busy few months ahead as Charlotte runs the Balfron 10k and Marc does the the Three Peaks Challenge with some family. We also have a jumble sale coming up as well as a stall at a local fair and Molly is hoping to get involved and make some crafts and cakes to sell. We are incredibly proud of Molly and very proud to be doing this for her. We would be so grateful for any support that you are able to give to help us to help us towards our goal.
