Molly's Prosthetic Life Changer

Donation protected
My sister Molly will be spending the next two months saying goodbye to her left foot. On October 23rd, she is scheduled for amputation surgery: 39 years, 8 months and 10 days after the track of a snowmobile chewed her up on the slope of a hill about a quarter mile from our childhood home. It was Valentine’s Day 1978 and she was just nine years old.

Molly has had over 40 operations on her ankle since that Tuesday afternoon including skin grafts, a growth plate transplant, leg lengthening surgery, two ankle replacements, lots of bone spurs removed and other stuff I’m not even sure how to describe. She has always walked with a limp and is unable to bend her ankle more than 1%. Arthritis has taken over and she is now in constant pain.

There is a way for Molly to regain the freedom of movement. With the combination of technology and hard work, a below the knee prothesis will allow her to move-- really move, in ways she has not been able since she was 9 years old.

Money from this campaign will help Molly buy a high-end prosthetic and help her finance the therapies and education needed to make her fully function (bionic?).

Thanks for considering!
