On February 24, 2021 Officer Alex McMillen of the Portsmouth New Hampshire Police Department received word that his daughter Molly McMillen had been rescued from a house fire at the home she shared with her mother and half brother in Webster New Hampshire.  Molly suffered significant injury from smoke requiring a several day hospitalization following a med flight to the hospital. The Somersworth Police Department NEPBA Union and the Portsmouth Police Relief Association partnered after the fire to help raise money to help pay Molly's medical bills, replace her lost possessions, and home transition from living with her mother full time to living with Alex. An investigation following the fire has led to Molly's mother being charged with several crimes related to the fire as reported in the Concord Patch and other news sources. Molly continues to receive medical treatment to aid in both her physical and mental well being following the fire. Alex and Molly have unresolved medical bills totaling several hundred thousand dollars to pay for the med flight and treatment Molly Received.  Officer McMillen is currently on extended leave to provide care and comfort to Molly as he cares for Molly and helps her transition to living with him full time. The Portsmouth Police Relief Association and The Somersworth Police Department NEPBA Union continue to provide support and are asking the community to donate what they can to aid Molly McMillen. All donations made through this Go Fund Me will be transferred directly to Alex for Molly's continued care.
