Moldova Noua, Romania Mission Trip

On September 11, 2017, I will leave Charlotte for Moldova Noua, Romania, which is in the southwestern part of Romania – and situated on the Danube River. For a week my goal will be to share with the people of Romania the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Like most other Eastern European countries formerly controlled by the Soviet bloc, Romania has not sufficiently recovered. Good jobs are scarce, educational opportunities are limited, and often hope runs low.
I will be partnering with the Grace Baptist Church, a congregation with whom my uncle has enjoyed a multi-year relationship. We will support the church’s soup kitchen, minister to its people, and attempt to bring a sizeable dose of emotional and spiritual encouragement.
Though I will work in limited ways with the children of Grace Church, my primary responsibility will be to teach the women. What we experience in the U.S. as “women’s ministries” is virtually unheard of in Romania. So I will strive to make the ladies, and particular the younger women with whom I hope to relate especially well, feel loved by God and blessed by His eternal truths – as I help the women make specific applications of Scripture to the unique circumstances of their daily lives. In a very real sense, we’re all in it together.
I will also visit the elderly, widows, and shut-ins, and take desperately needed food supplies to people living in impoverished conditions.
Please pray for me as I make this significant journey of faith. Your contributions, both prayerfully and financially, will help this gospel opportunity – that word “gospel” means “good news” – become a reality!
