Mobility for Daddy

Donation protected
My father, Charles Plowman, born in 1942, joined the marine corps in 1960, where he served our country for 35 years, through bay of pigs in Cuba along with the Cuban Missile Crisis, and 2 tours in Vietnam. Dad retired as Major in 1992 to be with our family back home, before accepting promotion as Lieutenant Colonel and having to go to Afghanistan during Desert Storm. He then taught Marine Corps JROTC at Leon County High School for 14 years.
As most of you know, my daddy, Major Charles Plowman, has been fully disabled since 2013 due to being in a coma for a couple months and having a stroke during his coma. Things took a turn for the worse again in September 2017 when Daddy fell and broke his sacrum. He was given pain medicine which didn't agree with his body and he was once again in a deep sleep for about a month and a half. After being in 2 hospitals and a specialty hospital, they sent daddy home in November 2017 because they didn't think he would have the strength to get off the Trach again. He is currently at home and on "In-Home Care". My mom and brother are currently taking care of him 24/7 since Daddy can not get out of bed by himself. They also take care of all his Trach/Respiratory needs. Someone always has to be by his side to make sure nothing goes wrong. I set up this Go Fund Me account to help them out. We are currently looking for a van as a donation or purchasing a wheelchair accessible van to help my mom get dad to and from his doctor. My family doesn't ask for handouts, but with his condition, mom not able to work, and insurance only covering so much; I decided to do this Go Fund Me Account. With insurance, it has been like pulling arms/legs to get the care we need. It's been a headache for all of us because we think dad is ready to work towards getting off the Trach, but we are having to rely on others to do their part and show up to help us (since we can't just take the Trach out). That's where the van would help, so we can have more choices of doctors to take him to and start working towards getting him better. Any donations to help us towards our goal of getting him a wheelchair accessible van would be greatly appreciated. Daddy's a fighter and we know he is. Once a Marine, Always a Marine! Ooh Rah! We just want to take things in our own hands now and take daddy somewhere to get the better care he needs instead of sitting there and waiting for someone to come to us. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for the prayers. They are always greatly appreciated.
