Family in Need

Imagine being a single mother of 3 beautiful children, all with unique needs, and caring for them on your own after surviving unbelievable odds over the years. Struggling to make ends meet, balancing schedules, numerous doctor appointments, meetings at the schools, late nights, early mornings, and relying solely on coffee and sheer determination to see you through each moment of each day. Throughout the years of struggle, and through the grace of God, a number of people step up to help when they can. Still, you feel alone and bear the majority of the weight of it all on your shoulders. Meet Ginny.

Ginny is an incredible mom, who has managed to demonstrate a strength of character, love for others, and a spirit of generosity matched by few.  Always quick to step up, to help out, and to give where she can (regardless of what little she has). Ginny is a self-sufficient woman who struggles with asking for help, even when she desperately needs it, so her friends and family are asking in her stead.

Her Story:

Three years ago, Ginny's mom passed away. Ginny stepped up and helped her father to move and get settled near her home, so she could provide the care he desperately needed. Riddled with a plethora of health issues, Ginny's father required more than a check in here and there. His health began to steadily decline, and Ginny found herself having to make the decision to quit working, in order to care for him full time. Ginny, herself, is a disabled veteran, dealing with her own health issues on top of her children's various special needs; then, add Ginny becoming her father's full time caregiver. Ginny managed two households, waking up early every morning to get to his house to make sure he has his medications, handling his finances, making sure he had food, medical care, and much more. Ginny and her children became dependent on his income and her unemployment income as a source of financial stability for the management of both homes. Due to her father's specialized care and her children's own unique needs, Ginny could not merge the two households under one roof. After a long battle of phone calls, doctor's visits, hospital visits/stays, various medical appointments, dealing with social security, etc., Ginny was finally able to access care for her father through home hospice and managed home healthcare. Finally, Ginny was going to be able to look for gainful employment and regain some of her independence she had given up as a full-time caregiver for her father. That was the plan, but as we all know, sometimes life throws a wrench in the cogs.

Yesterday, while out shopping for household needs and preparing for Christmas, she receives a phone call from the hospice caregiver that her father had passed. This was an unexpected turn of events. Additionally, she had just received a letter that her unemployment was coming to an end. Now, not only is Ginny facing dealing with an onslaught of emotions, but she has to deal with the funeral home, probate court due to issues with policies, and planning services. Ginny is in dire need of financial help to meet the next two months' finances to allow her the time to deal with the issues associated with losing her last living parent and allocate a viable job; all while continuing to juggle the demands associated with the care and keeping of her children's various health needs.

Your help is needed, and requested, in helping her meet her financial needs to allow her the opportunity to get all of her affairs in order, so she can continue to be the mother she needs to be for her children. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, whether through funding or sharing this request with others.
