Protect My Granddaughter

Whew. This is hard. Well ... my 3-year-old granddaughter has alleged that her dad (my ex-son-in-law) has been sexually molesting her. Just saying it, it seems unbelievable. But having worked as a daycare provider and preschool teacher, I just don't know any other explanation for her behaviors and what she's been saying. Sigh. To make it worse, he's hired an expensive smarmy lawyer to defend the indefensible. 
This is hard. It goes against the way I was raised, to just be strong, pull up your bootstraps and never ask for help. But, as my husband keeps saying, the only thing that matters here is that little girl's safety. Not our pride. But, my daughter can't ask strangers or friends for help, especially financially. So she doesn't need to know I'm doing this. She had just applied for a loan to buy a nice manufactured home to get them out of their apartment, and now she has to give that up to use that money for a retainer instead. And was informed that his lawyer is famous for creating unnecessary work for the opposition to cause the other person to run out of money, so we're expecting to pay well over the retainer. These legal games are horrible! 
So, this is hard, but would you consider giving a little to help us win this battle. What would be best is to get this predator off the streets, but at the very least we are fighting for no visitation no contact with him. It seems so cut and dried to me, but the legal system is what it is ... and expensive.
