Zambia Expedition & Community Project 2022

INTRODUCTION

Hi, my name is Harry Hart and I'm a student studying at Harton sixth form in the North East of England. Thank you for taking the time to visit my gofundme page. In summer 2022, myself and fellow students will travel to Zambia for 21 days to help school children in school as well as working alongside skilled builders, staff and locals with the aim of providing long-term infrastructure to rural communities in the Mkushi area in central Zambia. We'll be doing a whole range of tasks such as building toilets, classrooms and teaching English in the local school and generally doing our best to better the lives of the children and their families.
The organisation, Adventure Lifesigns  are working closely with my school to provide students including myself with a once in a lifetime opportunity.
This trip will not only be an amazing experience and challenge for me but also meaningful to the community that we'll be working with.

WHAT WILL I GET OUT OF IT?

I will be 18 when I go on the trip so I will learn leadership and life skills that will improve my confidence and character to set me up for life. But more importantly, alongside my friends, I'm giving the school children an opportunity for a good start in life - that's the main goal and it will be extremely rewarding. Not forgetting visiting one of the seven natural wonders of the world which is Victoria Falls.  Going on a safari in Africa has always been a dream for me and to be given this opportunity at a young age, is great!

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO ME?

I will discover another culture, as I will be living in the community where we are doing these projects. It will be totally different to my own and I will spend time helping the local people, as we construct safer and more reliable buildings for the less fortunate. Alongside this, I will be helping in the local school, both interacting and supporting the children in their education.

FUNDRAISING

This expedition comes with a considerable cost which is why fundraising is vital to help me create this once in a lifetime experience. As a team, we are responsible for our own individual fundraising. I need to raise £3,500 which will go towards training, travel expenses, in-country costs, equipment and insurance. I'm setting myself funding targets starting at £500.

I will be doing a number of fundraising events over the next 18 months, so will keep you all updated.

FINALLY

Thank you for taking the time to read this; I would be very grateful for you to join me on my fundraising journey.
If this trip is cancelled due to covid-19 or any other reason, your donation will be donated to the Zambia Society Trust  who will help many communities in Zambia, for filling our wish to creating a path of success to young people and their families.

Any donations would be very much appreciated.
No matter how small they are, each and every penny counts!

I will keep you updated on all of my future fundraising events.

Please share and repost to help this fund reach its goal.
Many thanks
Harry :)
