FTM - Top Surgery fundraiser
Hello. My name is Ayden.
I'm a freelance fantasy artist, who just happens to be transgender. Female to Male.
I am 32 years old, and have been transitioning since early 2013.
(having known since I was 7 years old, but being unable to speak to my parents about it.)
I've suffered many years of intense depression and anxiety caused by a mix of body dysphoria and not being able to transition, as well as various medical conditions. It made me gain a lot of weight, and not care about myself, or my health.
Thankfully in 2013 I was able to go and see a psychologist who works with people like myself, and was able to get the ok from her to start hormone therapy, and the first stages of transition.
It's brought me a long way, and made me care about myself again, and be able to look forward to a better future.
My job as a freelance artist doesn't allow for much savings, but I've been scraping together what little bit I can and storing it away.
Currently I have a little over $1200 of the total $9000 I'll need.
( UPDATE: I update the total needed whenever I add to my savings too! That's why it's different than the amount stated here.)
Why so much?
Well, my insurance won't cover the surgery, and Dr. Medalie doesn't accept most insurances anyway.
He's the best surgeon for that sort of thing in the state of Ohio. Great results.
But that isn't only surgery costs, that's travel and needs costs as well. I'll have to go all the way up north and likely spend a few days there for the surgery and a little recovery time before I can make the trip all the way back down to the city that I live in. It's a bit of a drive.
Anyway, I'm working hard to drop the excess weight, which so far has been successful.
I'm taking a large step in that direction in December, when I'll go through a gastric sleeve surgery. (Covered by insurance.)
This will help me drop what I need to lose before next summer. It will also take care of quite a few of the underlying medical conditions that I've struggled with in terms of weight loss.
(I had gastric sleeve surgery on the 13th of December. I'm doing very well on my weight loss goals.)

(March 2019) ~ I've met my first weight loss goal, and have reached 180 lbs!
Second, and ultimate goal is very much within reach. I should reach that goal (165 lbs) before summer really sets in. :D

This is where you guys come in.
I don't ask for money often, especially if there's no way I can pay it back... But that's what I need to do in this case. There's no way with my current financial situation, that I'll be able to gather enough funds in time.
