Support Dawn's Boob(s)

Two years ago, I had a radical mastectomy.  Treatment and recovery were brutal.  I thought that since everything was removed, that that was that.  Done, finished, over with.  I was mistaken.  Last March, I discovered a new lump.  I had barely begun putting my life back into some semblance of order and chose to hope that it was nothing other than an ordinary lump.  But, there are no ordinary lumps with breast cancer.  Then, a few weeks ago, I discovered another lump in addition to the first one and went to see my doctor.  I have two neoplasms on my upper left chest, where my reconstructed boob is located.  A neoplasm is an abnormal mass of tissue that results when cells do not divide as they should and/or do not die.  The neoplasms are malignant and must be surgically removed in addition to any other cancerous cells and lymph nodes that are aberrant.  Scheduling for surgery to remove these tumors, installation of a port for chemo, and chemo/radiation begin this week.

I don't want to do this.  I don't want to go through chemo.  I don't want any more surgery or scars.  I don't want to ask for or need help.  I also don't have much of a choice.   Most of the medical expenses will be covered under Medicaid, but what is not covered are co-pays, transportation, prescriptions, and all the commonplace things a person needs when they are undergoing cancer treatment  (e.g., dietary foods, bandages, etc.).

I don't know what else to say.  My battle isn't so much with cancer.  It's an unfair fight and I concede.  My battle is to stay as healthy and positive as possible while showing up for appointments and letting the doctors do their thing.   That's the battle I need help with.
