As a parent the last thing you want to hear is your child has cancer. And no way did we think it would happen to us.
In August 2011 we were told Daniel has Osteosarcoma. We are out to 'cure' it.
So after 2 rounds of intense chemo. .a major operation to replace his femur and a further 4 rounds of chemo, which lasted 9 months in total. We were finally told Daniel was in remission.
Daniel carried on his college course and passed whilst having treatment.
He was put forward for an excellence award from college and received this, me and Daniels sister (Natalie)and his tutor watched with so much pride.
Daniel signed for another 2 year course in IT. He then went on to carry on his career in games design, and applied for university to start this sept, and also passed his driving test.
In October 2014, Daniel went for a routine check and had a chest xray.
Then came more devastating news the cancer had returned.
After another operation we were told Daniel was again in remission. We were told he didn't need chemotherapy or radiotherapy, as there was just the one tumour. Little did we know what was coming.
2 weeks later Daniel started with back pain, everyone thought it was a trapped nerve. So after a visit to the gp we were told to contact his team. That's what we did. Eventually when Daniel was admitted 3 weeks after starting with pain.
After another scan, yet again more devastating news the cancer had returned in his spine. And all the can do is control 'it' not cure it. He has had another major operation to his spine to support his back as the tumour has fractured his vertibra and was pressing on a nerve. And the tumours have also spread to his lungs yet again.
This is where we are at now. He is waiting for radiotherapy and then a further scan to see about chemo.

As a parent I want to give daniel the best possible life what he has left. We don't know how long but I personally want to start making those memories possible for him.
One of Daniels wishes is to stay in the Shard in London. As a family this will not be cheap, this is one of the reason I'm asking his friends and family to make Daniels dreams a reality for him.
