Hey! I'm Cassie.
I volunteer with a non-profit Christian organization called Youth With A Mission, or YWAM (why-wam) for short. I grew up in Canby, Oregon and moved to the Dominican Republic in 2008 to begin training and serving full-time through evangelism, equipping, and in helping the poor and under-priviledged around the world.
My longing and desire is to disciple: to challenge everyone I meet and encounter to see that they are more valuable, more capable, and and have so much more to live for than they realize. I generally work with both local and international students in the Caribbean (ages 17-25) for six months at a time, but feel like God has recently been asking me to step things up and begin training my fellow staff as well. In an effort to equip others to thrive in their calling as full-time missionaries, I need a little more training. My plan for 2015 is to be in Pichilemu, Chile from late March until August to get in-depth hands-on Biblical counseling training, and then serve alongside leaders here before returning to the Caribbean to glean as much as possible in the realm of Missionary Pastoral Care.
Everyone in YWAM, from the founder and his family to the brand-new volunteer, serves not for a paycheck but to see the Great Commission spread around the world using their own time, energy, and resources. Each of us are self-sustained financially by a personal Support Teams of individuals and families giving monthly or one-time donations. Donations that are given equip me to get to those hard-to-reach places bringing the life-transforming Gospel and to love on those who need it most.
In order to walk out these plans, (purchase plane tickets, school fees, visas, food and housing), I need to raise funds on top of my monthly budgeted donations.
Would you join me in this adventure to see those in South America and the Caribbean being transformed and freed to walk in their God-given potential?
