My name is Missy O. This is my sister Gina's story.First I want you to know,she is one of the most kind, caring, & generous people you will ever meet.Sweet is one of the first words that is mentioned when people talk about her. She is only 45. On 1/16/15 she was taken from her clinic to the University of Minnesota because a mass was found on a M.R.I. they performed just after Christmas. A brain biopsy revealed cancer.Glioblastoma multiform=GBM.She started radiation/chemo treatments at the Mayo clinic in Rochester on 1/28/15.The tumor is in a location that puts alot of pressure on her brain and can cause confusion,resistance and memory delay.My parents are currently taking care of her,either at their home on weekends and staying in Rochester with her Mon.-Fri. as that is treatment schedule for the next 6 weeks.My Parents are 71 and 70,and on limited income,not to mention it is very stressful for them.She is married but her husband has to work to pay their bills and this isnt working out so well.I just want to try and ease the stress of all the extra expenses you incur with long term hospital care out-of -town. Hotels, meals,gas,parking,the list goes on. I only have one sister,and she is precious and I want all her strength focused on fighting this horrible disease.She is so good to everyone she meets,and every card or flower bouquet she gets,she cries and says,"How am i going to pay these people back for their kindness?". She is a christian and if you cant donate to her recovery,a heartfelt prayer would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for reading my sisters story.
