Wilson Family Car Repair Fund

Hi! This is a long shot, but we are in desperate need of help. We are Curt, Marie and Jett Wilson, a young, military family who are currently stationed in Virginia Beach, VA. Our 2010 Chevy Equinox broke down last Friday (Oct. 5, 2018), and the auto shop tells us we need a new transmission. We bought our car secondhand, and unfortunately, its warranty is expired, and our auto insurance won’t cover it as well. :( They told us it’ll cost $4800 to replace it, and we just don’t have that kind of money even if we use our credit cards. We have been relying on one income for 2 years now, since I have to stay home to take care of our now 2-year old son. We have had some unexpected expenses this year, one with having to evacuate due to the Hurricane Florence scare, but thankfully, it missed our area, so we were able to come home safe. We are also in the process of moving to another apartment coz we can’t afford the rent increase in our current one, so we are also trying to prepare for that.

We are still trying to pay off this car, so with this sudden turn of events, we might go more into debt. This is our only mode of transportation, and my husband’s duty station is an hour away from our home. We badly need for our car to be operational again.

In this regard, we are asking for donations of any amount to help us raise the money we need to pay for a new transmission and any other repairs needed for our car. Any amount raised here will be withdrawn directly by us, the Wilson family.
