Laura's Cancer Fund

Laura was just 52 years old when she began feeling ill in September 2014.  What she thought was a bad cold wouldn’t let up so she finally went to the doctor.  After extensive testing she was diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid cancer.  This type of cancer is complex and hard to treat.  Immediately, the tending physician’s began a grueling six weeks of twice daily radiation and weekly chemo treatments.   Despite chemo and radiation treatments the tumor had grown to the point where it was restricting her air flow.  An emergency stoma was inserted in the lower right side of her neck.  Soon after the doctors informed the family that there was nothing more they could do.  The doctors recommended hospice care.  She has been put on oxygen and morphine for pain.  She is now in the Lord’s hands.

Before September Laura was busy with work and enjoying her family.  She is the wife to Joe and the mother to two lovely daughters, Amber and Jessica.  Her world revolved around them and her beloved six year old granddaughter Trinity Faith.  Soon after treatment started she was unable to continue working, and Joe has had to cut back in order to care for her.  The costs of treatments and hospital stays have buried them as you can imagine.  Any monetary gift toward the financial burden of her medical care will be more appreciated than words can possibly convey.  Our goal is to raise $5,000 to offset medical expenses incurred during this difficult time. Thank you and God Bless!
