Hello everyone, it is unfortunate to announce that our friend Angie has been diagnosed with breast cancer, "invasive lobular carcinoma" to be exact. Invasive lobular carcinoma is a type of breast cancer that begins in the milk-producing glands (lobules) of the breast. Invasive lobular carcinoma is invasive cancer. That means the cancer cells have broken out of the lobule where they began and have the potential to spread to other areas of the body.
Invasive lobular carcinoma makes up a small portion of all breast cancers. The most common type of breast cancer begins in the breast ducts (ductal carcinoma). Invasive lobular carcinoma typically doesn't form a lump, as most women expect with breast cancer. Instead, invasive lobular carcinoma more often causes a thickening of the tissue or fullness in one part of the breast.
Angie Cimaglio is a single mother of two beautiful boys. She is very high spirited, largely energetic and golden hearted. The amount of time and assistance she gives to other people in her life, as well as strangers, has absolutely no end. There isn't anything in this world that she wouldn't do to help anyone who is in need, whether it be the simplest task to the most extreme. Her personality is undeniably beautiful. It lights up the darkest places. Even throughout this horrendous circumstance, she is still viviacious and walks with pride; her attitude towards life is nothing short of uplifting and encouraging.
The dangers of this diagnosis go too far. She will be having both breasts completely removed, along with any skin that sits on top of her chest. Skin graphs will be a must since she won't have any of her own left for a full recovery. The surgery, along with chemotherapy and rehabilitation will keep her, physically, down and out for a long time. In a parallel universe, the huge medical bills would come to a halt, finances necessary to survive and take care of her family would continue to come in but, we don't live in that universe, so now it's time for us to give back to a strong, inspirational woman who is in desperate need of our assistance.
We have to live with the fact that there is a risk of Angie losing her life but, we will make sure to push forward and help fight this all the way through. We WILL NOT allow this disease to take control.
We are waiting for a surgery date in March.. So please keep Angie in your prayers for complete healing after surgery and that the cancer has not spread & please keep her two boys in your hearts & prayers too.
