Team Potter, Party of 5 Adoption!

We could not be more excited to finally get to announce to all of you that Team Potter will be increasing by ONE because we are adopting! A couple weeks ago, we were contacted on behalf of a little boy in China named “Andy,” (as of now we are not allowed to release his name) and after talking and praying as a family, we’ve decided that the Lord isn’t done growing our family of four. We are super excited for him to be on Team Potter, the family of five!
“Andy” is a couple months younger than Emma (6), and he is currently labeled as special needs. We are uncertain as to how severe that might be due to China’s current method of processing orphans. While we do have some pictures and videos of “Andy,” and we will share them a soon as we’re allowed to do so. Trust us, we plan to show the whole world his pictures once we can! One of the best ways you can keep up with our journey is through following our blog here!
We are uncertain as to how long this entire process will take, but we are trusting the Lord as He directs our steps. We take a lot of comfort in the words of Jesus in John 14:18, “I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.”
As of January 28th, we were unaware of what God was doing in our and “Andy’s” life. We in no way were prepared for what was going to happen to our family last Thursday. Now all that is on our mind is how fast we can get “Andy” home. As you can imagine, the emotions are overwhelming. We are just trying to be obedient to what the Lord is calling us to. This is where we need each and every brother and sister in Christ. We want to try our best to keep everyone involved in this process, and the first way to stay involved is to pray for us. Here are some specific ways you can be praying:
· Pray for “Andy’s” development, safety, & over all well-being.
· Pray that the Lord will start preparing his heart for our home.
· Pray for favor with the adoption process as it can be a long and grueling process.
· Pray for us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as the Lord prepares us to welcome “Andy” in our family.
One of the biggest milestones ahead of us is that we have to raise $5,000 . We know this can be a little overwhelming, and we feel blessed to have a contact who will be matching any donation we receive. For example, if you give $50, our donor will match that donation with his own $50. Know that 100% of the money we raise goes towards bringing “Andy” home. We cannot begin to thank you for your prayers, support, and love for our son as we fight to bring him home. We love you all and thank you for reading!
