Hi my name is Sophie Sedlacek and I LOVE TO DANCE I am 14 years old and have been dancing ballet since I was 5. It is my dream to become a professional Ballet dancer. I train 7 days a week at Ballet Bloch Canada, and if I am not dancing I want to be dancing. Recently I competed at the Youth America Grand Prix semi finals in Seattle WA, This is the largest International Ballet Competition, with Semi finals being held all over the world. I placed top 12 out of 140 girls and have been invited to the New York City finals in the beginning of April to compete as a soloist. This is BIG, as only a select few are invited. My future and my dreams of becoming a professional ballet dancer can come true here. This is where scholarships are awarded and where Professional ballet company s discover their new dancers. Although I have great support from my family the financial expense for dance is quite high especially adding in a trip to New York. All my efforts and the support from my family could really pay off at this competition. From now until April I will continue to work and train hard so that when I hit the stage in New York I will be sure to put my best foot forward. I was also recently chosen to be B.C Povincial Representative, So I will be competing at Provincials held in Powell River at the end of May. Anything you could contribute towards my dreams coming true would be greatly appreciated by myself and my parents.
