Well, I'm the full package; I'm both a minority and very passionate about Chinese language and culture. Please help me get to China and, as the Chinese saying goes,一箭双雕 (kill two birds with one stone)!
My excitement was sparked at age seven when I practiced Kungfu with a coach who only spoke Mandarin and was fed by wonderful Chinese teachers in high school and college. I was fortunate enough to visit China for the first time my last semster of high school, and that trip was one of my most memorable experiences; it made me more determined than ever to become fluent in Chinese.
In an effort to further improve my Chinese, this past semester I applied to Princeton in Beijing, one of the foremost full-immersion Chinese summer programs in the country, and (by the grace of God) was accepted. Unfortunately, the cost of tuition, food, textbooks, airfare and all other expenses will come to about $8,500. Surprisingly, I am not eligible to take advantage of traditional funding sources, and I'd like to try funding this myself. I'm currently working to earn some of the money, but I need help with the rest.
Participating in Princeton in Beijing would be a huge step in my journey to not only better my comprehension of the Chinese language, which I am fascinated by and committed to learning, but also my understanding of Chinese culture. Will you help me reach my goal?
No donation is too small. To participate in Princeton in Beijing, I must turn in all funds by April, 15 2015. Your help is much appreciated! Thank you for investing in my future.
