The Farmer Bill appeal

Donation protected

When my son Bill, a 21 year old Yorkshire farmer,  found himself having to fight to save his mother’s life when a thief drove his van at her, he had just 2 choices – wait and see whether she survived or not or stop the attack, using his shotgun, the only means of defence he had. He shot only at the van and the driver wasn’t injured, but both he and his mum Louisa was arrested and spent 24 hours in police cells. They arrested him for attempted murder and even though it never got to Court, the police cancelled his gun licenses, which caused him massive problems because, as a farmer, he needs guns to control pests. Shooting is his hobby and is also a very important part of his social life, and he should not be deprived of this either.

In most countries, he would have been treated as the hero he is, but not in England

So, he appealed to York Crown Court to try to get the police action overturned. He knew that it would cost a lot of money and he was prepared to risk everything to fight for his good name and get his guns back.

After the estimated 5 days, which was going to cost about £57,000  the case still wasn’t finished because the police brought in extra evidence, which raised the costs even more, and will now take at least another 3 days and another £10,000, starting on the 23rd February.

If you feel that this young man, who has only done what every son should do in this situation, deserves financial help to clear his name and get his life back, please donate whatever you can spare so that he can continue to fight his appeal.
