<div>Mitchell Smith is an Australian powerlifter in his late twenties living with Down syndrome. Seven years ago, he walked into a gym and grew a goal. Two years ago, he stepped onto the competition platform for the first time. This year he stood on the podium at the National Series and earned a Silver Medal — securing his selection to represent Australia on the international stage.
