Mitch loved baseball, the WSU Shockers, and the KC Royals. From the time he was 2 years old, to the time of his passing, that love of baseball never ceased. After his passing, the Mitch Caster Shockers Baseball Scholarship Fund was established to provide Shocker baseball lovers with the opportunity Mitch had. The fund is managed by the Wichita State University Foundation and recipients are determined by the Shockers baseball staff.
The goal is to raise $35,000 so that the interest generated by your generous gifts will continue to pay for the scholarships from this point forward.
Consider donating what you can, perhaps just the cost of ball game tickets to your favorite team, as your gifts will dramatically impact a life for the better.
Mitch had multiple opportunities to play D-1 baseball, but chose the Shockers. When asked why he chose to play at WSU he replied "I can't imagine wearing anything but black and gold." It is our hope that your generosity will continue, so other young men can have the opportunity to wear that same "black and gold."
