<div>Mein Name ist Fabiana und ich habe mittlerweile das dritte Mal Krebs. Es kostet mich sehr viel Kraft und Überwindung nach Hilfe zu fragen. Ich gehe offen und ehrlich mit meiner Krankheit um und versuche anderen Mut zu machen.

<div>2022 hat so gut angefangen für mich und meinem Mann. Wir kauften uns ein Haus und fingen an dieses in überwiegender Eigenleistung kernzusanieren, ein halbes Jahr später kam meine Diagnose und alles ging den Bach unter. Unser Haus ist leider noch lange nicht fertig. Wir mussten alles umplanen. Ich kann aufgrund meiner Krankheit/Verlauf nicht arbeiten gehen und mein Mann stämmt überwiegend alles alleine. Wir schlafen in unserem eigentlich geplanten Esszimmer, da das Obergeschoss noch nicht ausgebaut ist.

<div>Ich war beruflich so glücklich, ich habe als Meisterin in einem Bereich in der Logistik für Leistungsgewandelte Mitarbeiter gearbeitet und konnte diese mit meiner offenen und liebevollen Art helfen. Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ich einmal auf Hilfe angewiesen bin.

<div>Oktober 2022 Eigentlich sollte nur eine Zyste entfernt werden. Doch am Abend nach dem Eingriff setzte sich der Oberarzt an mein Bett und sagte die Worte, die mein Leben für immer veränderten:
</div>
<div>„Sie haben ein Ovarialkarzinom.“

<div>Ich wusste damals nicht einmal, dass das Krebs bedeutet. Ich dachte, es sei etwas, das man „einfach behandelt“. Doch ich befand mich bereits im dritten Stadium, der Krebs hatte gestreut, am Darm und an der Magenwand.

</div>
<div>Es folgten unzählige Gespräche, Untersuchungen, ein Port wurde gelegt, die Chemotherapie vorbereitet. Dann die große Operation: Gebärmutter, Eierstöcke und Bauchfell wurden entfernt. Mit 27 Jahren verlor ich damit auch die Chance, eigene Kinder zu bekommen. Obwohl es eine Möglichkeit zur Fruchtbarkeitserhaltung gegeben hätte, entschied ich mich dagegen die Erfolgschancen waren gering, das Risiko hoch. Ich bereue diese Entscheidung nicht. Ich wollte überleben.

<div>Sechs Chemotherapiezyklen folgten und mein Körper zerbrach fast daran. Nach jeder Sitzung musste ich ins Krankenhaus. Extreme Schmerzen, stationäre Aufenthalte, zweimal Corona während der Chemo, immer schlechtere Blutwerte. Nach dem dritten Zyklus kam der Notruf: Eine seltene Nebenwirkung hatte zu einem Darmdurchbruch geführt. Notoperation. Zwei Wochen Intensivstation. Isolation. Schutzanzüge. Masken. Jeden Tag nur eine Stunde Besuch. Noch nie habe ich mich so allein und ausgeliefert gefühlt.

<div>Mit einem Medikamentenwechsel wurden die letzten drei Zyklen etwas erträglicher. Mein Körper war am Limit. Meine Haare fielen aus, Normalität fühlte sich unerreichbar an.
</div>

<div>Dann 2024 der nächste Schock: Rezidiv. Wieder Operation.

</div>
<div>Im Mai 2025 starke Schmerzen, Atemnot. Ultraschall. CT. Die Diagnose: mehrere Tumore im Becken – und multiple Lebermetastasen. Wieder begann alles von vorn. Eine Operation war nicht möglich, zu riskant. Also erneut Chemotherapie.

<div>Am 12. Juni 2025 startete ich wieder. Dieses Mal wusste ich, was kommt. Der erneute Haarverlust machte mir weniger Angst als die Ungewissheit. Zudem wurde festgestellt, dass mein Krebs ein Granulosazelltumor ist, eine extrem seltene Krebsart. Nur etwa 100 Menschen pro Jahr in Deutschland erkranken daran. Es gibt kaum Studien, kaum Erfahrungswerte. Für viele Entscheidungen gibt es keinen klaren Leitfaden.

<div>Am 22. August 2025 heiratete ich, trotz allem. Dieser Tag voller Liebe und Hoffnung gab mir die Kraft für die weiteren Therapien.
</div>

</div>
<div>Doch selbst die Medikamente wurden zum Risiko. Auf Carboplatin reagierte ich allergisch. Trotz langsamer 12-Stunden-Gabe unter ärztlicher Überwachung kam es erneut zu Komplikationen. Das Medikament musste endgültig abgesetzt werden. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt gab es kaum noch erprobte Behandlungswege.

<div>Die letzten drei Zyklen ohne Carboplatin habe ich besser vertragen. Kein stationärer Aufenthalt mehr.
</div>

</div>
<div>Das Kontroll-CT zeigte: Die Metastasen sind noch da, aber sie sind rückläufig. Ein kleiner Hoffnungsschimmer.
</div>

</div>
<div>Insgesamt habe ich bisher neun Chemotherapien hinter mir. Am 16.02.2026 stand das nächste CT an, dies zeigte, die Metastasen im Becken bilden sich weiter zurück. In der Leber und Lunge sind die leider gleichbleibend.
</div>
<div>Nun muss ich bis Mai ca. pausieren um meinem Körper Ruhe zu geben. Ich darf aktuell keine Chemotherapie mehr machen.
</div>

<div>Mein Körper ist erschöpft von all den Operationen, Notfällen und Therapien. Aber ich gebe nicht auf. Ich kämpfe mich zurück ins Leben und versuche meinen Körper wieder aufzubauen.
</div>

<div>My name is Fabiana and this is my third time having cancer. It takes a lot of strength and effort for me to ask for help. I deal with my illness openly and honestly and try to encourage others.

<div>2022 started so well for me and my husband. We bought a house and began to renovate it mostly on our own. Six months later I was diagnosed and everything went down the drain. Unfortunately our house is far from finished. We had to reschedule everything. I can't go to work due to my illness/course and my husband does most of everything on his own. We sleep in our originally planned dining room because the upper floor hasn't been finished yet.

<div>I was so happy professionally, I worked as a master in a logistics area for employees with performance changes and was able to help them with my open and loving nature. I never thought I would need help.
</div>

</div>
<div>October 2022 Actually only one cyst should be removed. But the evening after the procedure, the senior doctor sat at my bed and said the words that changed my life forever:
</div>
<div>“You have ovarian cancer.”
</div>

</div>
<div>At the time, I didn't even know it meant cancer. I thought it was something that could be "simply treated." But I was already in stage three; the cancer had spread to my intestines and stomach lining.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Countless consultations and examinations followed, a port was inserted, and chemotherapy was prepared. Then came the major surgery: my uterus, ovaries, and peritoneum were removed. At 27, I also lost the chance to have children. Although there was a fertility preservation option, I decided against it—the chances of success were slim, the risks high. I don't regret that decision. I wanted to survive.

<div>Six cycles of chemotherapy followed, and my body nearly broke under the strain. After each session, I had to go to the hospital. Extreme pain, hospital stays, two bouts of COVID-19 during chemo, and increasingly poor blood test results. After the third cycle, I received an emergency call: a rare side effect had caused a bowel perforation. Emergency surgery. Two weeks in intensive care. Isolation. Protective suits. Masks. Only one hour of visitors per day. Never before have I felt so alone and helpless.

<div>A change in medication made the last three cycles somewhat more bearable. My body was at its limit. My hair was falling out, and normality felt unattainable.
</div>

</div>
<div>Then, in 2024, came the next shock: relapse. Another surgery.
</div>

</div>
<div>In May 2025, severe pain and shortness of breath. Ultrasound. CT scan. The diagnosis: multiple tumors in my pelvis—and multiple liver metastases. It all started again. Surgery wasn't possible, too risky. So, more chemotherapy.
</div>

</div>
<div>On June 12, 2025, I started again. This time, I knew what to expect. The renewed hair loss frightened me less than the uncertainty. Furthermore, it was discovered that my cancer was a granulosa cell tumor, an extremely rare type of cancer. Only about 100 people per year in Germany are diagnosed with it. There are hardly any studies, hardly any empirical data. For many decisions, there are no clear guidelines.

<div>On August 22, 2025, I got married, despite everything. This day, full of love and hope, gave me the strength for the further therapies.
</div>

</div>
<div>But even the medications became a risk. I had an allergic reaction to carboplatin. Despite slow, 12-hour administration under medical supervision, complications arose again. The medication had to be discontinued permanently. From that point on, there were hardly any proven treatment options left.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I tolerated the last three cycles without carboplatin better. No more hospital stays.
</div>

</div>
<div>The follow-up CT scan showed: The metastases are still there, but they're shrinking. A small glimmer of hope.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I've had nine rounds of chemotherapy so far. On February 16, 2026, I had my next CT scan, which showed that the metastases in my pelvis were continuing to shrink. Unfortunately, the metastases in my liver and lungs remained unchanged.
</div>

</div>
<div>Now I have to take a break until about May to give my body a rest. I'm currently not allowed to have any more chemotherapy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My body is exhausted from all the surgeries, emergencies, and treatments. But I'm not giving up. I'm fighting my way back to life and trying to rebuild my body.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm staying strong.
</div>
<div>For myself.
</div>
<div>For my husband.
</div>
<div>For my family.
</div>
<div>For my friends.
</div>
<div>And for the hope of a life that still holds so much for me.
