Missy McFadden’s Ass Kicking Cancer Fund

Donation protected

My best friend Missy was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Now we all know she is going to kick its ass but I know she would feel better knowing that we’re behind her and helping her any way we can. Please donate to help her pay off what I know will be an insurmountable amount of debt from all of her doctor and hospital bills. We love you Missy and are behind you 100%. I’ve attached her story in her words if you want to read how this came to be and how amazing and strong of a person she really is:

So... just putting this out there since a lot of people don’t know yet and honestly this is just easier than people inquiring about my interesting new hairdos after my hair all falls out from the chemo that I’ll be starting Monday....found out mid August that I have ovarian cancer....
It all started sometime in May when my one thigh would get randomly swollen for the day. Then was normal. Then two days later it would be the knee too, then normal. Did one of those free telehealth things but obviously they said to go somewhere. A few days later it was my whole left leg and pelvic and wasn’t going away as quickly So I just went to the fancy 5-star urgent care down the street. They said it was a bartholin cyst, gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way. A few days later I was totally normal and psyched about that. And then a few days later it came back with a vengeance but now BOTH legs. So I went back when I was done with the antibiotics. Saw a lady and she noted that my abdomen seemed swollen as well. Told me to go to the ER the next day to get an ultrasound. So I did. (This was 4th of July).
They said she was crazy to recommend that - leg swelling would have nothing to do with my abdomen so they did ekg and chest X-ray. Perfect fine. They were like ‍♀️... you seem healthy to us, except that leg thing... follow up with your primary.
Keep in mind, I don’t have one. And had tried calling so many places before going to the urgent care but this was peak corona time and no one was taking new patients or they would never call back. So I asked a few friends and got a referral. I went in and the second I met this Dr lady, I loved her. She was like ok there could be 8273 reasons for this so let’s take a whole lot of blood and tests and figure it out. She was on a mission. And I finally felt relief someone would figure out why I have the legs of a sumo wrestler.
So she calls a few days later and says #1 - Lymes disease. Which could have been what started the knee swelling. That’s an uncommon symptom but possible. #2 - my CA125 levels were real high. That’s a cancer marker they test for. Not 100% reliable so she moved up my scheduled ct scan for the next day and had already setup an appt for me at Fox Chase Cancer Center for the following week... just in case. Got the ct and ultrasound, had the appt and this Dr at FCCC is like yep! Looks to me like a lot is going on down there so we’re just gonna take it all out. And they did, middle of August. I was back home in 2 days and back to work in 2 weeks. At my follow up she called me a super healer.
The pathology report showed it was in both ovaries, tubes, uterus and some nodes... hence the chemo.
I’m doing a study bc I’ll be the youngest person to ever be in it...it’s the last phase of a trial where they just add this new drug to the normal cocktail and it’s supposed to make the others work faster and better. They’re all excited to see how my super healing body reacts to it and I’ll be able to give great data to help everyone else who ever gets this so I’m excited for that.
Cancer sucks and dealing with that has always been around for me... as far as other people getting it... definitely wasn’t expecting this out of nowhere - I had ZERO symptoms. Nothing. The leg swelling is not a symptom of that. I’m glad I found that great dr who was determined to solve it after being blown off 3x and I’m looking forward to kicking it’s ass.

Please donate to help her as much as you can. I know she will be eternally grateful.
