It's me, Ashna, with an exciting update. Yayy!
This past year has been an interesting and exciting year! I graduated from my master's degree programme at Maastricht University; I spent a lot of time on mission; I entered a new relationship; I became a leader of a Christian student ministry in Maastricht; I followed God where He was leading, and He never fails to amaze me! But sometimes, His plans are confusing when we don't see the complete picture yet.
I'm currently in Bahrain, awaiting to see what God will do next. Over the course of this past year I have been seeking to follow where God leads me. This desire to follow God took me to Amsterdam in January for a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Discipleship Training School
. During this time period, I learned more about God and how His heart works for this broken world, and instead of sitting on that information I was given the opportunity to spread the love of Jesus and the gospel message in other countries, outside of my personal comfort zone. God brought me to Georgia, where I was able to share the gospel in the cities of Svaneti, Tbilisi and Batumi. I also felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to get baptised, and I did so in the Black Sea. I prayed this experience would be a testimony to those around me; as it turned out it was! We had a few people approach us out of curiosity and we had the opportunity to witness to them and connect them with a local church. We could really see God move in these cities and it was such a blessed experience.
At the end of my period of international outreach, I prayed a lot and the Holy Spirit brought me back to Maastricht, the Netherlands
, to be a part of the Damascus Road University Ministry
. I joined as a leader of this student ministry in August 2018, and have helped to run weekly DR:UM Nights (church style services), worship nights, small weekly Bible study groups, evangelistic outreaches and community service events. I also helped to increase our online presence as a ministry through YouTube, WordPress, Instagram, Facebook , MailChimp and Gmail. I feel very deeply in my Spirit that I am meant to be a part of this ministry, and serving God in Maastricht.
However, the current position that I am in does not allow me to do that. I am trusting God, and in doing so contacting you - because this is where YOU come in!
I am looking for partnerships with people to support me through prayer, and where possible, financially. I'm currently applying for a Spiritual Counsellor visa to be able to return to the Netherlands, since my current visa expired. This will allow me to return as a missionary and also to acquire part time work around my missional responsibilities, so as to financially support myself more. However, initially, I am seeking financial support to be able to get the ball rolling - the application for this visa itself is €900 and is €900 I don't currently have. By faith I am asking if any one of you would consider assisting me to achieving this goal of application, and would consider supporting me financially, so that I am able to follow where I feel God is leading me. Even a small amount of assistance is appreciated!
I know God will make a way for me to return; I hope you can also be part of this exciting testimony!
Love and joy and peace and blessings,
