Dear Future Life Changing Supporter,
When I decided to go on a mission trip to Thailand with my church, Abundant Living Family Church in late 2016 I did not know how it was going to change my life. When I learned about children being sold by their parents and others in their world for sex and labor, I was moved beyond words. Only tears could express what I felt in that moment, and what I have felt since - an overwhelming calling and purpose to help and be a part of the transformation God is doing in the children that have been rescued from trafficking at Life Impact International in Mae Sot, Thailand. During my 10-day trip last October, I knew that not only did I have to be a part of the transformation of the lives of the children there, but also that God was going to do a transforming work in me. A calling even bigger than my short-term trip was birthed in me. As a marriage and family therapist, that trip opened a door for me to see the need Life Impact has for mental health services.
Life Impact has been able to save 145 children affected by trafficking, and currently there is no mental health or counseling assistance for those children. As I am sure one can imagine, there is multiple trauma cases and other mental health issues that need to be addressed as a result of this horrific injustice of innocent children, not to mention training of the staff and adoptive parents on how to address the needs of these children in the most therapeutic manner.
I was asked by Lana Vasquez, founder of Life Impact to come back short term to assist with counseling services there, however I believe God is calling me to surrender my life in the United States and join Life Impact as a missionary counselor indefinitely. I am preparing to leave sometime in early 2019 and need your financial, emotional, and spiritual support. I am asking for support for my initial expenses such as airfare, materials, and cost of the move. I am also asking for recurring monthly support for living expenses as a missionary that would not have income. Any support placed on your heart to give would be greatly appreciated as I take on this this endeavor to counsel children and adults. Although I’ll be on the other side of the world with a different language and culture, I know the need for therapeutic services transcends language, cultural, and geographical boundaries. I am humbled by this opportunity to serve and use the gifts God has placed in me for His glory and to serve in this unique way. Thank you for your support!
