I was raised between Marin's headlands, sailing the bay, and the Sierra mountains. Having spent the majority of my life out of doors, connection to, understanding, and preservation of the natural world have always been primary focuses.
Involvement with Antarctica has been a dream and goal for decades, and the opportunity presented itself in a strange twist of manifestation in Truckee a couple years ago. Now an obsession born from dire need that has turned life's path due south, time is spent in preparation for a full transition to life at the bottom of the world... )
