Mission Trip to El Salvador: Gift of Hearing

Every year, the Long Island Audiology Consortium gives their students an incredible opportunity to participate in a Global Mission trip and help spread the Gift of Hearing. This year I am fortunate to be given this opportunity and enhance my graduate experience by working with the Starkey Hearing Foundation in El Salvador, January 2020. 

This once in a lifetime experience will allow me to strengthen my clinical skills and grow as an independent future audiologist. The Starkey Hearing Foundation provides multiple mission trips around the globe to help those who are hearing impaired and don't have the available resources to seek help. During this mission, many people will be able to hear again, or maybe hear for the first time.

I am grateful for this opportunity and hope to raise money to help El Salvador hear.

Providing hearing care alone does not completely dissolve the psychological barriers that continue to cause many of these children and adults to believe they are limited in ability.
