Mission Team to Africa, Kenya!

Hello! It’s Olivia Walker! This summer, I am so excited to share that I am going to Africa, Kenya, at the end of July for 2 weeks on a mission team with Mission Africa. I am on a team with 6 lovely girls, two of which are leading the team.

Whilst we are in Kenya, we will be helping women and teenage girls who have come from or are living in vulnerable situations. We will be volunteering at a centre that aims to empower young ladies through scripture and education, rescuing them from early child marriage and FGM. The centre also helps to reconcile the girls back to their families and societies after traumatic cultural experiences. We are so excited to volunteer at the rescue centre and get to be a part of the incredible work that the centre already does.

We will also be running a respite week for families that have children with Special Educational Needs which I am super excited about!! We would love and appreciate your prayer for safety and the women/families that we will be alongside. Please pray that the Lord would touch their hearts and we would see His power move in Kenya.

To fundraise for a part of the costs for the mission team, I kindly ask if you could donate any money, no matter how small! I am also planning a sponsored walk, and I would LOVE as many people as possible to join me! Or, you can just simply donate. On Saturday 31st May, I plan to walk from Landsdowne Portrush all the way to Lost & Found in Portstewart. We will take a coffee/ bun break then walk back! This will be roughly a total of 10 miles. We will meet at Landsdowne carpark at 8:45am to start at 9am. If you would like to join, you are more than welcome and I would appreciate your support a lot! If you have any questions, please ask away! If you even want to walk just one length, that is totally ok!
