I have set up this account with my son, Timothy, and my daughter, Ruthie, to raise support for a week long missions trip we are going on from July 30th-August 8th
to the Central American country of Nicaragua. We, along with other members of the team, will be going with the Dix Hills Evangelical Free Church in Huntington Station, Long Island, New York.
The primary purpose for this trip is to work alongside of the missionaries of New Life Nicaragua. This ministry is a pillar of the community, and since their foundation in 2002, they have been able to provide for the needs of thousands of people through their orphanage, feeding program, children's educational program and trade education program.
We will also be serving the people of Nicaragua by helping to meet the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the poor people from a community called Cristo Rey, who are also desperate for resources. This village is located in one of the dumps in Managua, and their poverty cannot be overstated.
We are reaching out to ask if you would be willing to help financially support us on this life-changing opportunity. The projected cost of this trip is $2,000 for each of us. 100% of the money raised will be going directly to this endeavor. Any additional money will be donated directly to the missionaries of New Life Nicaragua to provide for the physical needs of the orphans and poor mentioned above.
Most importantly, we ask that you pray for our health and safety as we serve in the second poorest country in the western hemisphere. We thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness as you serve them through us by giving to the poorest of the poor.
PLEASE take a few minutes to watch this video. You will be deeply moved by the profound squalor many of these people are forced to live in without the hope for a better life. Tim and Chris Bagwell, the founders of New Life Nicargua, are two of the finest people I know. They gave up the comforts of living a sucessful life in America in order to serve these wonderful people full-time.
