<div>On February 26th, 2024, Rick received a diagnosis of Prostate Cancer that had spread to his bones, lymph nodes, and abdomen. The situation should have been identified earlier through routine blood work, given Rick's status as a type 1 diabetic who regularly monitored A1C levels. A simple test, the PSA level, could have potentially signaled the presence of the cancer sooner.

<div>Rick's PSA level was normal at 3.2 when last checked in 2018. However, in 2024 the later weeks of January and throughout February, he experienced severe pain and muscle cramps that rendered him unable to move from his bed. After multiple visits to the emergency room, a diligent doctor conducted additional tests, revealing a striking PSA level of 1215 and a diagnosis of Level 4 Advanced Cancer that had metastasized to his bones, lymph nodes, and abdomen.
