Changing the image of "beauty pageants"- Siera Bearchell for Miss Supranational 2015

Thank you so much to those who helped support me on my goal to win the title of Miss Supranational Canada- I succeeded!  I am now Miss Supranational Canada 2015 and will be representing CANADA at Miss Supranational in Poland in December!  Now that I have reached the next step in this journey, I am seeking support.

I have always believed that no goal is out of reach if one is dedicated, works hard and is not afraid to fail.  Our lives are too short to not chase after our dreams and there is sure to be a day that regret will follow if we don't take those opportunities when we had the chance.  I realized this after my family lost our home to a house fire in 2009 and I wanted to give back to families like ours.  I volunteered with the Red Cross and entered a pageant hoping that I would be able to make a difference on a greater scale.  I entered and won Miss Teen Saskatchewan, and eventually won the title of Miss Teen Canada-World.  I then went on to place as Second Runner-Up at Miss Teen World.  From those experiences, I was able to work with numerous charities, travel to Kenya, Africa to build a school with Free The Children and give back to the community through Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House and many others.

In 2013, I decided to run for the title of Miss Universe Canada.  I did not win the title, but I came as close as possible by placing as First Runner-Up.  Through that experience, I was able to travel to Nicaragua to work directly with Operation Smile and SOS Children's Villages.  I was able to broaden my global network and meet incredible people from around the world.  These competitions are more than just "beauty pageants."  They give young women a platform to stand upon to speak out on issues that are important to them, to discover who they are, and where they want to go and to make a difference in their communities.  The networks I have built because of these competitions is incomparable and I am ready to expand that network of building relationships and helping others once again.

I am now hoping to win the title of Miss Supranational 2015. This competition would again allow me to give back to my community on both a local, national, and potentially international scale.  I just completed my first year of Law School at the University of Saskatchewan and so competitions like Miss Supranational can get expensive, especially for a student!  I am seeking your assistance to help me get to Poland to participate in the Miss Supranational Competition.  Any amount would be greatly appreciated and I will be sure to attribute my hopeful success to all of those who helped get me there.  Follow my journey on my Instagram @sierabearchell
