This event is the major fundraiser for the San Francisco Chinatown Lions Club. The proceeds will go towards funding the Vision Care Service Foundation, to benefit many charitable non-profit organizations, as well as providing a helping hand to those in need. Throughout the years, tens of thousands of dollars raised have been donated back to the community.
In 1965, the SF Chinatown Lions Club was approached by a group of teens with the idea of presenting a positive image of Chinese teens in the community. The idea blossomed into the Miss Teen Chinatown Contest in Nov 1966. This proved to be a great fundraising event and the tradition continues.
All participants are judged for their academic excellence, community service, extracurricular activities, talent, poise, personality and fundraising skills. All participants will receive different levels of scholarship and prizes.
I am asking for your support in my fundraising pursuit for this event.
Your donation will offer deserving scholarships to the participants as well as providing charitable funds for our community. Hopefully this will also spark a light and awareness on the importance of San Francisco and all Chinatowns during this pandemic and be a source of bonding within our Chinese American community.
Please make your checks payable to the "SFCLCF" (SF Chinatown Lions Club Foundation) and mail to me if you want a tax receipt.
