Miss Smith Is Back From Washington!

"Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other." – John F. Kennedy

Hello Everyone! My name is Kassadi Smith and I know that in order to become a great leader, I can never stop learning. As a junior at Florida Atlantic University High School, I am accustomed to the rewards of academic excellence and service here in my community. However, being selected to participate in the prestigious National Student Leadership Conference’s International Diplomacy and Mastering Leadership programs at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. this summer is confirmation that hard work pays off and opens doors to new worlds of possibilities.

Since 1989, tens of thousands of outstanding high school students from across the United States and more than 70 countries have come to the NSLC for an incredible opportunity to share, discuss and debate issues that affect them, our nation and our world. Through unique, curriculum-based lectures, workshops, service projects, and field trips, students are encouraged to explore the qualities of great national and world leaders, as well as gain an insider’s perspective on some of today’s most exciting and important professions.

Attending NSLC would be a wonderful, but challenging experience for me. First and foremost, I need your prayers as this will be harder than anything I’ve ever done. Secondly, I am asking for your financial support to help cover the cost of tuition (including room and board, course materials, program activities, and meals), plus travel. All contributions are sincerely appreciated!

Below is an overview of the associated program costs:
·       Program Deposits: $700 – Goal Achieved!

·       Student Protection Plan: $168 – Goal Achieved!

·       Incidentals: $425— Goal Achieved!

·       Multi-program Discount: $400 – Applied!

·       Tuition Balance: $5690 – To be Raised

·       Travel (Airfare and Shuttles): $400 – To be Raised

Please note: This campaign will continue until the goal is met. However, I am striving to satisfy the tuition requirement by March 1st for planning purposes.

I’ll close with this one final thought, a quote from one of my favorite authors:

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” ― Maya Angelou

Thank you for your time and consideration. May God bless you!

With gratitude,
Kassadi Smith
