Miss LaTanya's Flood Relief

Tanya “Miss LaTanya” Williams is a behavioral technician at Westglades Middle School in Parkland, Florida  and her family are among the thousands who had to evacuate their homes in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 8th, 2020.   Sub tropical storm Eta dumped up to nearly 14 inches in parts of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties and forced families, like Miss LaTanya’s to evacuate their uninhabitable homes.

The water flooded the streets and quickly seeped inside The Williams' home, rising fast. They had to flee, everything in the home was destroyed. At the moment, we do not know whether the damage to the house can be mitigated, or whether the building will be a total loss.

This disaster has put an incredible financial burden on them. Miss LaTanya and Kevin Williams have shown generosity and kindness to many people over the years. Miss LaTanya is an active member of the Parkland school community where she has worked for 18  years, organizing  fundraising events and running the Parkland after school and  Summer Camp program.  We hope that now many people will step up to help them in this time of need.
