Miss Kimberly Medical Fund

Miss Kimberly needs us to be there for her just as she has been there for all our children through the years of teaching at Painted Oak Nursery and the many years at Rambling Pines.  I am sure that many of you have experienced the dedicated and loving care that Miss Kimberly has provided our children.  She has always welcomed the children with laughter and love. Kimberly encouraged them to be independent while providing them with compassion and warmth.  You could always find Miss Kimberly digging for worms with the children and discovering nature together with sass and enthusiasm day after day.
On October 17th Kimberly went to the hospital for significant pain associated with fibromyalgia. She was put on major medicines to ease her pain and was sent home. She was sent home that Thursday and Friday as well.  Saturday morning Oct 21st, she was taken to the hospital and admitted with pneumonia in both lungs, and a STAPH blood infection. An MRI revealed a significant infection in her chest and spine and she was admitted to ICU. Evidently, she was so used to pushing through the pain that this infection was going on long before she was admitted to the hospital. It has eaten away part of her rib and destroyed the chest wall joint. By Oct 25th Kimberly was transferred from Capital Health to Cooper Medical Center in Camden and once admitted, she had a significant operation on her spine to relieve pressure and an additional surgery to operate on a mass of tissue located under the skin on her chest. She had several more surgeries to drain the infection wherever it kept popping up in her body during her hospital stay.  By Nov 6th she was released from ICU and the staples from her spine were removed.  Finally on Nov 14th she was released to her parent’s home for the foreseeable future but has to be in an out of hospitals constantly and on intense pain management.  She will not be able to return to work for an undetermined time and the medical bills are astronomical.
Let’s come together as a community and support Kimberly in her time of need.  This is our chance to thank her and to return the love.  Kindly, please find it in your hearts to donate.  If all of the families she cared for helped then we will easily surpass the donation goal.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you can offer.
