Help me compete

Hello families/ friends, my name is Winnie Aluoch. (For those who do not know me) I am taking one step towards achieving one of my goals in life. I decided to compete in the Miss Kenya USA Pageant in July 2018. After a little research, I learned that the pageant encourages contestants to build self-confidence, individual pride, and a greater self-awareness.
This February, a portion of the pageant requires me to identify a cause about which I feels strongly about. This cause happens to be girl child education and a focus on additional support that is needed for young girls & woman. I will then have to effectively communicate to a panel of judges how, if given a chance to represent Miss Kenya USA I would bring awareness to the injustices girls & woman face in Kenya. I have worked as a volunteer at my church by translating for those who don't speak English for the last three years by supporting and encouraging girls & single mothers to further their education. I'm also a member of Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC). I am currently a student at Nashville State Community college pursuing an associate degree in criminal Justice. My passion towards Social Justice & fighting for girls/women equality is what attracted me to pursue a degree in criminal justice.

In order to compete in the pageant, I will need to raise $2000 to cover my expenses. These funds can be sponsored by family, friends, and local businesses, all of which I will be reaching out to in order to attempt to reach my goal. The $2000will cover my registration fees, wardrobe, hotel and pageant fees. Any donation will help fuel my dream & will be able to meet my goal & compete in the Miss Kenya USA pageant.
