Miss Kathy's Rope Holders

Donation protected
The term "Rope Holder" has become a term of endearment to our "Miss" Kathy.  Rope Holders are people who come alongside  you and support you when you are in need. You can read more of the sermon that spoke to "Miss" Kathy here  .

As many of you are aware, our dear "Miss" Kathy has been fighting cancer for seven years now.  It began in 2011 with her first diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer.  After a successful, yet difficult treatment plan, she went into remission.  After several years, a spot showed up on her spleen.  They removed the spleen and her second wave of chemo began.  After a short time of remission, the cancer presented again in her lymph nodes and close to her pancreas.  After a third wave of chemo that left her physically very ill, she lamented that she did not know if she could go through chemo again if it continued to make her sick.  Unfortunately, the chemo did not "get" all of the cancer.

However, in true "Miss" Kathy style, she is not to be outdone by cancer or its treatment.  "Miss" Kathy decided to do chemo again (for the fourth time), but this time her doctors are recommending it be in pill form along with an anti-nausea medication that will hopefully keep "Miss" Kathy from feeling so ill.

This is where the Rope Holders come in: the medical bills are more than "Miss" Kathy can handle on her own.  Specifically, the price of her anti-nausea medication is so high that she cannot afford it for the time prescribed.  Instead of being defeated by this, she did her research and found funding for her medication for a whole year, almost to the penny.  After going through all the red tape and getting all the paperwork in, the night before she was to pick up her medication, she found out that she would not be receiving the grant after all.  This was quite a blow to our "Miss" Kathy, who had tried to go ahead and begin the chemo without the medication and became very sick within just three days.

"Miss" Kathy has blessed so many of our own lives or our children's lives.  She is a woman who is uncomfortable with the idea of receiving charity, though she gives charity so easily to many.  We are asking on her behalf for you to be a Rope Holder for "Miss" Kathy.

If you take the monthly cost of the medication needed and multiply it by one year, the total is roughly $5000.00.  This is the amount for which we are asking, but we do not wish to put God in a box.   He can do mighty things with only a little.  Please consider donating so that our "Miss" Kathy can continue to fight.

If you'd like to support "Miss" Kathy, please feel free to donate here, through this GoFundMe account, or you may send donations directly to "Miss" Kathy.  Please contact us for an address.

Any funds raised over and above the goal amount will go toward future medical costs or expenses deemed necessary to aid "Miss" Kathy in her long term care.

More importantly, please know that your prayers are being felt and that, as always, "Miss" Kathy is giving God all the glory in every situation.
