My Puerto Ricans Friends and Family

Donation protected
As we celebrate the Jewish New Year, I can't help but think of my friends and family who are going through an incredible hard time in Puerto Rico. I feel helpless and lost in how I can help all the the Puerto Ricans who are without food, water and electricity at this time. As a Jewish "Mother", I obviously feel guilt. The guilt when I go to the grocery store, yet they are short on food at this time. The guilt when I complain about how hot it is outside, yet they live with this right now 24/7. As I speak to my friend Lorraine several times a day,  I am horrified with the stories she tells me. She has told me about so many people losing all their possesions, and how many are without water or electricity. Let alone the senior citizens that are without medications and no way of getting them. Living on an Island gives you the disadvantage of being far removed from other countries. It seems like Aid has been extremely slow coming in. After speaking to Lorraine, there will be many neccesities in the months to come for the people on this Island. Even their own JCC will need help in rebuilding their facility and maitenance. We felt that this fund would be the best way to help the people in Puerto Rico, and to figure out where best to allocate the funds. No gift is too small and we are confident that every dollar will be appreciated and put to good use. May we all have a Happy and healthy New Year and may we start the year in the right path helping those in need.
