Volunteer Youth Work in N. Ireland

I am volunteering at a youth centre in Dundrum, Northern Ireland called R.I.O.T (Revival In Our Town), which is dedicated to building community in County Down. I did an internship here in the summer of 2014 and after finishing school at Asbury University, I was able to get a Visa and come back this past October (2015)!!

 I am privileged to help with several youth programmes, lead a Girls Group, help run the hostel accomodation, and work with missions teams from the U.S. that come and volunteer here at the youth centre. Also, getting to hang out with the youth at RIOT is so much fun, between football (soccer),  ping pong, worship, and going on different outings with the kids there was never a dull moment.

There is a need in Northern Ireland (as there is everywhere), that the people realize how much Jesus loves them and that He wants to be in a relationship with them. Northern Ireland has gone through a treacherous time of religious conflicts between Protestants and Catholics, which they call the Troubles, from which they are still healing, but the conflict is not completely over. I want to help the younger generations help their communities heal through a love that only Jesus resembles. 
 
I have raised enough to stay here through March, but am in need of $4,000 to make it through from April to the beginning of August. I am volunteering here, so the money would go to my accomodations and food. :) 

“My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
