Thank you for your interest in our page! Please read below to find out a bit more about this project!

"Breaking into the business is tough." If you are an aspiring artist of any kind, this is a sentence you've probably heard before. It's true, it is difficult. However, with support from investors like you, Mason Day can flourish as he works to join fellow artists in the industry. With an emphasis on story and character design, Mason will embark on his Senior year at the University of Arizona, and over the course of one year, he will create a short fiction film - His thesis, His calling-card, His origami unicorn.

Help us create something great!

"Mirror", a short film written by Mason Day and supported by you.

-After waking up in a strange room, a young woman explores her existence in the world, only to uncover a dark reality.-

Meet the Director

Growing up, nothing terrified Mason more than the Tyrannosaurus Rex from Jurassic Park. This fear lead to a great obsession with science fiction and fantasy storytelling. Mason began creating projects like Lego-based stop animation films and short action films with his parents' tape cameras. Today, he can be found running around with handcrafted astronaut helmets and his trusty 35 mm film camera. Thanks to the help of family and friends, Mason has made his way down the path towards being a film director. His main focus is to one day shoot the first feature length film in space.

-Favorite Movie: Jurassic Park or Blade Runner
-Favorite Dessert: Creme Brulee
-Favorite Animal: Akira, my cat!

Key Crew:

Marcos Vidal - Co-Producer

The Funds

With your help, as well as the support of an excellent film crew, we will be able to realize this film, which was originally conceptualized in 2017! $1,000 is a lot of money, but I am confident that every donation is valuable, and will help in many ways!

Unfortunately, the film program does not offer financials support to fund our thesis. Because of this, Mirror is 100% self funded. This is where you come in!

Funds from this project will be put towards many different aspects of the film including pre-production, production, post production, and distribution. This may include:

-On set costs such as food, water, and safety
-Location rentals
-Set, costume, production design
-Fees to submit to film festivals, both domestic and foreign
-Legal fees, such as copyright registration
-Payment for other artists, such as stunt coordinators or music artists

Budget Breakdown

There are many other elements to this film that need to be carefully considered and paid for. Please contact me if you would like to see a further breakdown of the budget.

The Finished Product

At the end of Senior year, along with 14 other films, Mason's film will be premiered at the Fox Theater in Tucson, Arizona. Here you will be able to watch his film on the big screen and see the movie magic behind your generous investment.

People like you who are able to support young, upcoming artists are extremely valued and appreciated. On this production, we highly respect our investors, their contributions, and their time. We thank you for your time, and hope to hear from you soon!
