What is this?
Miriam's Well fund is for a woman with three children who is having serious financial challenges. Her name is not Miriam. We are guarding her privacy for her dignity and protection. This campaign is aimed at her friends and people who just want to help someone in need. It is not tax deductable.
If you do not wish to use this site, please contact me and I will tell you other ways to help.
Why wouldn't you? Well, they charge a processing fee. Why would you? It's easy. It's instant.
When will "Miriam" receive the money?
When we reach the goal or June 6. The day after Shavuot.
Why that number?
In my very, very, very limited understanding of taxes, that amount will allow her not to pay taxes on the donations. But I am not an expert. I'm just trying to help out.
Why are you doing this?
I am not best friends with this person, but I really like and respect her. I've known her for about a decade. She has helped others in times of need. When I was pregnant, I was having a hard time, and once she was very, very caring towards me. Honestly, it was a 10 minute conversation, but it was 10 minutes I needed. So, I want to help.
How do you know she's okay with this?
I received permission from the people closest to her.
