Help Mireille ride the breast cancer roller coaster.

I have only just started my journey fighting three forms of breast cancer.  One of which is invasive and two which may reoccur any time, without treatment, and therefore need your help.

I would not have thought, at 47, I would ever experience something like this in my life time but here I am. I am a mother of one beautiful girl and have a very supportive and loving husband.  As an avid supporter of the Queensland Cancer Council, I have, for the past 7 years raised funds for not only medical research but all types of support initiatives. Including, but not limited to; 24/7 Councillor's Hotline, Wig library allowing patients to interact normally and transport assistance.  I understand everybody going through cancer treatment needs help from time to time.

Now that I am on this roller coaster ride there is no turning back and believe I will make a full recovery with the power of positive thinking, an expert team of medical superheroes and family and friends.

Fortunately, I am not yet showing any symptoms but have been told my symptoms can range from emotional outbursts, hair loss, either weight gain or loss from steroids, early onset of menopause and worst of all a lowering of the immune system, which will leave me vulnerable to infection, therefore limiting contact with friends and family who might inadvertently pass on germs that will make me sicker.

I am trying to fund a number of things which will help me though surgery to remove a tumour (completed mid October 2017), MRI (completed early November 2017) three months of chemo (started mid November 2017), six weeks of radioactive therapy (approx start late February 2018) and five to ten years of hormone therapy which as you can imagine will be a costly venture.

I am asking you to support me fund:

Two wigs approx $400 to $800 each = approx $1,600

·         Transport and parking (over entire treatment period) = approx $2,500

·         Ongoing support medication = $150 and rising

Future cost

·         Radioactive therapy = Unknown

·         Hormone therapy = Unknown

 
Any funds I cannot direct to the above will be immediately transferred to the Qld Cancer Council to ensure others like me can have the support they and their family need. This will not stop me from supporting a number of worthy causes but may slow me down just a little and this is where you come in....
