Miracles For Lyriq Cecille

Donation protected
On June 22, 2017 I got a call...THAT call that no one wants to get.  My only child, Lyriq, had been struck by a car and was in an ambulance on her way to Grady Trauma Center.  I made some calls to friends and family to pray with me as I made my way to her.  It would be 8 hours later before I heard any news from her surgeon as to her condition.  She was in ICU in critical condition.  They stopped the bleeding in her damaged liver...pins were put in her broken left arm and fractured right wrist...a deep gash in her right knee was bandaged up.  The skin on her right arm and buttocks had been torn away from being dragged down the street.  There were also multiple lacerations all over her face.  But the worst damage was to her spinal cord.  Her C4/C5 vertebrae had been fractured and rendered her paralyzed from the shoulders down.
WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BABY!!!  Lyriq had stopped by a friend's house after work to have a quick chat before heading home.  Parking on the narrow residential street was tight but she had to park on the street.  Her buddy said she would move her car so Lyriq could park her car in the driveway.  Lyriq moved toward the trunk of her car to get something out before she moved into the driveway.  But in the blink of an eye a distracted driver came speeding down the street and slammed head on into the front of Lyriq's car with so much force that her car knocked her down and completely ran over her and dragged her several blocks down the street.
When the light of day settled, my darling daughter experienced a tsunami of misfortune.  The young woman that hit her had let her insurance lapse the morning of the accident.  Without insurance funds to underwrite the medical bills, that were already mounting  to well over a million dollars, were astronomical.  We needed a miracle... or two.
Before this accident, I thought I believed in God and his providence toward us, but this experience has taken my faith to a new level.  The miracles have been over taking Lyriq even before the car came speeding down the street.
God loves Lyriq so much that He had a friend of our family labored in prayer at her church the night of the accident, nearly 3 hours before Lyriq was hit.  My friend didn't know why she was praying so hard and so long at the altar.  It was several hours later that I called her to pray for Lyriq but she was not surprised and immediately understood why she was praying so fervently earlier that night.  But God...
The medical teams that were put together to treat Lyriq at Grady were miraculous  as well.  Those doctors, nurses, P.A's, and specialist worked tirelessly to conquer every situation that arose.  We had nurses that prayed over her daily.  God's providence orchestrated each day's challenge until life was stabilized in her body.  And at the end of her stay, that 1.9 million bill was greatly reduced and paid in full through our family's insurance company.
The next miracle came when Lyriq was accepted at the Shepherd Center, one of the country's premier rehabilitation hospitals for brain and spinal cord injury.  I always say, "Grady saved her life but Shepherd gave her back her life."  That place  was a daily miracle.  It taught us so much regarding her care and recovery.  Lyriq came to Shepherd on a ventilator.  When she left that blessed place, she was off the ventilator, had no trach in her airway  and no feeding tube.
Today she is stronger and more determined than ever to regain her mobility and get back to her life and purpose.  And that's where you come in.  Lyriq has many financial needs that we need your help with.

1) She needs extensive dental work that runs into the thousands.
2) She needs daily physical therapy that medicaid won't pay for
3) We need to have more renovations done in our home so Lyriq can               freely access all the spaces she needs to get to.
4)  Van insurance is very expensive
5) And so much more
Immediately, we are looking for 100 angels to donate 100.00 to kick start our fundraiser.  Of course, we will gratefully accept any donation of any size.  We thank you in advance for your love and support as Lyriq and her family walk this journey together.
